About Us
The Denver Center for International Studies at Montbello is a public school serving families in
far northeast Denver.
DCIS at Montbello prepares students in Grades 6-12 for college, career and life by helping them understand how to seize the countless opportunities the world has to offer. By graduation, every DCIS at Montbello student will be multilingual, inter-culturally competent and prepared to solve problems and lead communities worldwide with knowledge and compassion.
To empower and equip students to thrive in our increasingly complex world, DCIS at Montbello offers a globally minded approach to education that combines rigorous academics, intercultural interaction, public service, travel opportunities – and extracurricular activities that are a whole lot of fun. Our students are specially prepared to tackle 21st-century challenges because they are outstanding communicators. DCIS at Montbello students receive intensive instruction in world languages and the creation and use of technology. They are regularly challenged to hone their communication skills through collaborative public-service projects at our school, in our city, across our nation – and around the world.
DCIS at Montbello is modeled after the Denver Center for International Studies’ highly successful downtown Denver campus. The DCIS tradition is strong: since 2006, 100 percent of DCIS Denver’s graduates have been accepted by at least two colleges – great schools, including Harvard and Yale universities, the University of Chicago and campuses closer to home, such as Colorado State University and the University of Denver.
